Happy New Year...

Happy New Year's, everyone.

No FFTA tip again...I haven't played my GBA at all today.

I'm still worried about school. I think I have things straightened out for this semester, except I don't wanna take psych at 7:30 in the morning. I guess I could ask my boss if I can work different hours so I could take a midday class (I work the lunch rush) but I'm afraid she'll not do it, cause they already have people to work nights...all the high school kids...and they have a pretty good opening crew.

Grr........

I could take afternoon classes, like after work, but I already told my boss I could work later hours and I want to be available. They just won't give me the hours, except every now and then. I've been working the same 11:30-2:00 shift for the 9 months and 9 days I've worked there. It's sooooooooooooooo boring.

What am I gonna do??

School blues...

School hasn't started yet, but I have to pick my classes, and so I've pulled out the spring schedule with the lovely IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) guide.

I think some of my problem lies in that I don't know where I want to go and what I want to study. Knowing these things makes class decisions so much easier. I know only this: I want to go to a state school. I don't want to major in math, science, or anything in the medical field. I think I want to get a master's. Whatever I want to major in is for a backup job. I want to be a writer, but I know that won't make money right away. I think I may want to be a high school teacher or college professor. Or something to do with books. Oh, it's so hard to decide....

(note: no FFTA tip of the day today...I haven't played the game for days...)

Back to the usual

Well, it's back to work and so on for me. But today it's raining which is just peachy for my allergies, plus I have an unexplainable earache in my right ear.

FFTA tip of the day:

-Keep Mareen out of the direct line of fire if you can, that way if you have to revive her with Phoenix Downs she won't get killed again right away.

I bought Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for my GBA yesterday. Only $9.99. Nice.

I gotta stop buying games though cause I have very little money to spend right now, until I get paid on the 1st.

Notice I changed some settings on my blog. The top message is different, and I added a picture. It's a manga picture of Misty. She has a flip phone, like me...:)

The Amazing Race is on tonight, but it's basically just a recap of the last few episodes. Hello!!! You leave us hanging in Hungary, and all we get is a clip recap show???? Last episode, they didn't even finish the episode, but showed the last place people settling down for the night while the others got a lead on them at the next route marker, then it said "To be continued..." What?! You can't do that!!

I kind of wonder if they will get out of Europe eventually. They did go to Dakar but then they went back to Europe. So far their destinations have been such: Chicago, USA, to Grindavik, Iceland (via Rejkvavik and a glacier); Grindavik, Iceland, to Voss, Norway (via Oslo); Voss, Norway, to Stockholm, Sweden (via a bus to Stockholm and then via train to Haggvik, tandem bicycle to the roadblock and then back to Haggvik station, then by train back to Stockholm); Stockholm, Sweden to Île de Gorée, Senegal (via Dakar), Île de Gorée to Berlin, Germany (ferry to Dakar, then flying, and a lot of riding in taxis); Berlin, Germany to Budapest, Hungary (by air). And now we wait...

Merry Christmas!

Hooray! It's Christmas!

I got lots of presents today. I'm happy.

First, a Final Fantasy Tactics Advance tip of the day:

-If you're not sure what mission to do, and you have clan members dispatched on "dispatch" missions and you're waiting for them to come back, just walk around from place to place on the world map to make time pass. A journey from one point to another takes 1 day. Most "dispatch" missions last 5 days or so.

Ok...what did I get?

-$25 cash (from my grandfather)
-Jeans--they don't fit though...:(
-Comfy shirt
-Comfy pants
-2 pairs of shoes
-2 shoe insoles
-3 CD's--Sleigh full of Songs, Stacie Orrico and The Polar Express soundtrack
-2 DVD's--The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Burns and Allen Show
-cell phone (early present)
-jacket (early present)
-ponytail holders
-hairbrush & comb
-hair clips
-Jeopardy! N64 game
-6-roll pack of Mentos
-1 roll of Mentos, Ice Mint flavor
-chocolate coins
-2 Fun Saver 35 disposable cameras
-1 yo-yo
-Life Savers Sweet Storybook, The Polar Express edition
-1 Archie Pals and Gals' Double Digest
-1 L sticky note pad
-1 Krikorian Theatres reloadable gift card ($10 value)
-1 CD wallet
-1 stationery set

Pretty cool, huh?

My aunt and uncle come on Jan. 8th so I'll get more presents then. Fun!!!

Bye for now.

It's Christmas Eve!

Yay! It's Christmas Eve!

I got to leave work early today, which is great cause it's Christmas Eve.

Before I go on, here is today's Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Tip of the Day (only one for now):

-Load up on Phoenix Downs. You can use them in tough fights to revive your fallen friends. I found this quite useful in a fight against this armor-plated dog that you could only do like 3 damage points to.

I bought Medabots AX: Rokusho Version today (only $7.99, what a bargain!) for my GBA (it's a robot battle game...I figure it'll help me from becoming totally addicted to FFTA) and finally bought Pokémon Stadium 2 for the N64. I have wanted it forever, and it turned out it was only $9.99, even though it was marked as $12.99. (The guy said they probably did a price change after the game was bagged to be hung with the other used N64 games, and they didn't get a chance to change the price tag). I have seen it elsewhere used for like $25 so I was pleasantly surprised.

Our stockings have finally been hung up. I had a hard time getting the stocking stuffers I bought for my mom, dad, and brother into their stockings, though, as the stockings were quite well stuffed already. Grr.

Well that's it. If I don't get a chance to post tomorrow (and I probably won't), Merry Christmas!

Under the weather...

Well I am sort of under the weather. I have a headache and some other pain, which is kinda private. *sweatdrop*

It seems to be going away though...I guess ibuprofen really works. Or was it the non-brand name frosted flakes I just ate? I do have quite a sweet tooth. :)

I have decided to start a daily feature in this blog. It will be called "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Tips of the Day." I imagine this will go on for quite some time, as I understand there are 300 possible missions you can do in this game, which, according to one review, provides 100+ hours of gameplay. FUN!!!!!!! Sometimes reading on the bus gets boring, which sounds strange for me to say, since I love reading, but since most of my reading lately was for school, I guess it makes sense.

Anyways, here's the first Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Tips of the Day:

-Try to keep your White Mage (Brish at first, and there's probably others) because they can use white magic to heal you. While First Aid only heals yourself, Cure can heal others also which is awesome.
-Regarding the mission Thesis Hunt: Take out the white mage first. I got this tip from a online walkthrough, and it certainly helped, although I still had to do the mission several times. He is the one who looks like Brish, and you wanna take him out for the reason explained above: White Mages can heal, and this one can do some kind of Protect move on his teammates too that ups their defense or something. He plays hard-to-get, but with patience, you can take him out. Use Marche or Roland at first to get to him; they have the longest move ranges. Either that, or try using Montblanc's magic (just make sure none of your teammates are in the line of fire; I've accidentially killed some of my own people that way...oops) or one of your archers--Mareen is the best. (Annie's not as good).
-Save often. I have to do a couple missions over now cause I forgot to save. You can save when at the World Map; press start, select system from the menu, then select save. It will ask you what slot you want to save to initially, and you can save over data too. I don't know how much data each slot holds, but probably a lot; there's only 2 slots though.
-Use the L button when entering battle to check on laws that are in effect before dispatching your clan members. One fight I started to do then quit has a law against fighting, meaning I should leave out my main "fighters" like Marche and Roland, and maybe Mareen, and rely on my magic users.

Only three days till Christmas...

Yay! Only 3 days till Christmas!!!!

I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday, so I am happy there too.

I have also bought 2 games for my GBA: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and F-Zero: Maximum Velocity. The FX game is a spaceship racing game, but it's kind of hard to do because I keep bumping into the shocking fences.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is fun. After the beginning of the game, which involves the city turning into a magical land, the game is mission-based, kind of like the James Bond video games, except with no complex objectives like "keep so-and-so alive." You go to pubs in cities and accept missions, then you and your clan go to the place the mission says, then you typically fight some monsters, although some missions aren't battle ones.

I also bought a "wormlight." This is a light that plugs into the GBA and it helps you be able to see in the dark or in dim light. It matches my GBA too. I wonder if the guy picked out the one I got because of my GBA color. I had it in my hand when I walked in this afternoon (I was playing FFTactics).

I am anxiously awaiting Christmas...

The battles are hard. The bad guys tend to gang up on my one clan member (I forgot his name) who knows Black Magic, i.e. magic that actually hurts the bad guys. I have two people who know "white magic" which is stuff like healing and things. Plus the main guy, Marche, and this one soldier Roland both have healing moves. It takes a while. I had to do the first battle 3 times before I finally beat it.

In a bind...

Well I am in a bit of a bind...wasn't able to get my check today...the manager said they would be given to Carlos, our new GM, and he wouldn't be back till 6. But I think my parents are going to help me out, at least to get the present for my work Christmas party tonight.

Ugh...my dogs will not shut up. They must think someone's outside or they wouldn't bark so much...

*sigh* I'm bored. I don't have any homework (school's over), I can't play my GBA (I don't have any games for it yet), and I don't feel like watching the first installment of the Totally Spies 2-hour marathon (I've already seen the episode they're showing right now). Sabrina, the Teenage Witch is on too but it's the same episode that was on another channel yesterday.

I guess I'll go take a shower.

Thanks to Peregrina Australis for her comment on the last post. It's nice to finally get comments on here. The reason I don't know how to share the pic on here is that I took it with my cell phone camera. Can you share those pics online?

I got a GBA!

I took my picture of me with this...but I don't know how to share it.

But hey here's the news...I am now the proud owner of a (used) Glacier-colored GBA! Yay!!

Well that's it. Tomorrow I'll tell you about what games I bought (assuming that happens). Bye.

6 days till Christmas...

Only 6 days till Christmas...yay.

I'm going to try to finish my shopping tommorrow. I hope it works out.

I am going to use part of my $50 to buy a GBA, then use my paycheck to buy some games. Here's a list of games I'm considering...please comment if you know anything about these games.

Advance Wars
Breath of Fire
F-Zero Maximum Velocity
Medabots AX: Metabee Version
Megaman Battle Network 2
Pocky and Rocky with Becky
Sonic Advance
SpyHunter
Sword of Mana
Tetris Worlds
American Idol
Davis Cup Tennis
Fullmetal Alchemist
Gadget Racers
Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for Girls
Kim Possible
Kim Possible 2: Draaken's Demise
Sabrina the Teenage Witch: Potion Commotion
Uchuu no Stellvia

I am also considering getting Pokémon GBA video cartridges, and maybe others. Probably Sonic X and Strawberry Shortcake too. (I confess I liked Strawberry Shortcake when I was little...I had a doll anyway...so I am interested in the show).

No payday for me...

Well I didn't get paid today...the bigwigs in Tennessee forgot to send our checks. We won't get them till Monday. If then. I just hope I get it before our Christmas party Monday night.

My mom told me I should buy something for myself with the $50 my grandpa sent me so I can say I used it for Christmas. Or something like that. Maybe I'll buy one of those used GBA's for $39.99 that I've heard about at EB Games. I would have to use some of my paycheck to actually buy any games for it though. I want some GBA Video cartridges too. I'll have to check the prices on those.

(GBA stands for "Game Boy Advance," for those who don't know).

They should make a camera thing for the GBA, like the Game Boy Camera thing for the original Game Boy and the Game Boy Color.

Speaking of cameras, I have one on my new cell phone, a LG 6100. I have been taking a series of pics of the sun at different times recently. I will show them to you on here if I can figure out how to get the pics from my cell phone to the computer. Maybe if I send them to my e-mail address? Don't know.

Well I wanna check the prices on that stuff, so bye for now.

A quick jotting...

Wow. I actually skipped a day writing here. Oh well.

Just something quick cause I have to get ready for work.

For the record, the International Channel is showing Record of Lodoss War now in the 8:00-8:30 spot on Friday nights. I checked the program guide last night.

At least I get paid today. Hooray!!

Ok. I'm bored. I'm going to stop now.

The week goes on...

I know...it's sort of pointless to post here every day, but I have at least an hour before I have to leave for work and I'm bored.

I just picked up my research paper, which was also my final for English. I think I got a good grade. My teacher has certain criteria she goes by, which she divides into 2 parts. I got a B- on the first half and an A on the other half.

I have decided on a title for my general site: Sakura no Inochi. This means literally, "spirit of the cherry blossom." Imochi literally means "life, animate existence," but I heard it used for "spirit" in Kiki's Delivery Service so I suppose it's all right to translate it as "spirit." I just looked up "spirit" in an English-Japanese dictionary (the above definition was from a Japanese-English dictionary) and the word iki, which means "breath," was given as one of the words for spirit, which I suppose corresponds to our word psyche.

Hmmm maybe I should change the title. How about chikara no sakura (strength of the sakura)? Noo...jitsu no sakura (truth of the sakura)? No...jiyu no sakura (freedom/liberty of the sakura)? Uh no. Oh brother.

Wait...how about Sakurabira? That means "sakura petals" and is nice and compact. Hurray. I like that.

Ok enough babbling. Look for Sakurabira soon. I am going to build most of it offline then load it on some web site server, although probably not Geocities. Or maybe Geocities. Don't know.

Hello...it's Odin's day, Wednesday!

Hi everyone. It's Odin's day, or Wednesday (he was also called Woden). Why I thought of that, I don't know.

I finished The Prisoner of Azkaban. It was longer than the first two and I didn't read it as nonstop as the others. I was surprised that Sirius Black turned out to be a good guy. But at least the bad guy Harry went after in the end wasn't Voldemort this time.

I started re-reading Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China, a book my uncle gave me. It's an autobiography of a young Chinese woman and her mother and grandmother living in pre-Communist and Communist China. It's rather interesting.

Now that finals are over, hopefully I can work on my novel! Right now it is tenatively titled Us Against the World and is the first novel I've written that's more than 10 chapters (I think).

Christmas is coming up...only 10 days. Yay!! So is my work Christmas party (it's next Monday). It's at 9pm, the reason being that I work at Wendy's, and the dining room closes at 9pm (the drive-thru's open till midnight).

At least the week is half gone, meaning the weekend (and payday) is coming up. I'm interested in seeing what will be on the International Channel on Friday night from 8:00-8:30, now that Tenchi in Tokyo is over.

Speaking of that, feel free to visit my Generator Gawl site. There's a link in my profile, but I'll put it here too:

http://www.geocities.com/lararyo17

I am going to create a general site for myself also, but not for a while...I can't think of a title.

P.E. and Harry Potter

Well, I did it...I finally finished my P.E. class. I got my 24 hours. I am soooo relieved. I was wondering whether I could finish that class. Now with that done I have no finals or anything left to do.

I just started reading the Harry Potter books. Boy are they short! I have finished the first two already, so I am on The Prisoner of Azkaban now. At least books four and five are longer.

Well, I'm gonna go. The Amazing Race is on.

Welcome to my blog

Hi everyone. Welcome to my blog. You can call me Misty. It's not my real name, but I don't feel comfortable revealing my real name online, so I'll just borrow the one of my favorite Pokémon character.

I hope you like this blog. It'll be nice to have somewhere to vent.
